Ryan was born and raised in the rural northern Utah community of Smithfield. He spent his youth camping, fishing, and playing every sport available. His father taught and coached at the local high school and he spent his school years as “a gym rat”. Through his high school career he excelled at academics and athletics; he lettered in three sports, football, basketball and baseball, and qualified for the national honors society.
After high school graduation Ryan served a two year mission for his church in Toronto Canada.
Following his return home at age 21, Ryan immediately enrolled in college in which he majored in History with a minor in Philosophy. He earned his bachelors degree in History in 2003, then earned a Masters Degree in History in 2005. Both degrees he earned from his hometown school, Utah State University.
During this time Ryan married his current wife, Jini, they have two boys, Joseph 18, and Jake 15. Since graduation Ryan and his family moved to St. George, Utah, where he still enjoys the rugged outdoors of Southern Utah, hiking the red cliffs around his home, and watching and playing basketball and spending time with family. When he gets a chance he loves to play guitar and build wood furniture.
In his professional life, Ryan has worked in many capacities in the investment and financial worlds. Ryan’s main focus over the past 14 years has revolved around the investment world with both traditional and non traditional investments. Ryan has worked with several companies in helping them establish, fund, and manage well over $100,000,000. The bulk of this work has revolved around funding and managing multi million dollar real estate projects throughout the country.
As part of Sprout’s residential fund, Ryan brings a wealth of experience in both his knowledge of real estate as well as building the relationships with investors that will participate.
